This is another example of some mechanical apparatus which I can't name. If you imagine a pyramid upside-down, you're looking at the bottom pointy-bit, and then vents/piping expand upwards (you can sort of see the triangle shape expanding up towards the top of the photo). What it's for? No idea. Perhaps this is where the coal dust enters the furnace?
