Chemistry Set Apr 1, 2005
Neatly arranged, this glassware had all the makings of a high school chemistry experiment.
The Carbide/Graphite Group was also a manufacturer of calcium carbide, a product made from lime and coke. When mixed with water, this becomes acetylene gas which has industrial uses such as chemical manufacturing and welding. This may be a partial explanation as to the 'science lab' found in one of the remaining buildings.
