Two old gas pumps sit on concrete pads at a service station that is slowly being overgrown by grass. A chain link fence separates the station from the road beyond.

Gas Pumps on Hwy 400

I seem to have the ability to make things disappear.

I've been driving north on Hwy 400 from Toronto to Huntsville for over a decade, and along the way pass a number of abandoned gas/service stations. Without fail, if I ever stop at one of these to take a look around or take a few photos, it's guaranteed that service station will be demolished the next time I pass by.

The subject of this photo was no exception.

It's not that there was anything spectacular about these stations, but I always wish to have the opportunity for a second look. Apparently I wield great power with the wrecking companies and don't even know it.
