Failed Persuasion Jun 12, 2004

For me, what separates this from any other photo of a burned book is the title of the book — 'Persuasion'. That alone makes me see this as humourous. That and one of the few legible words on the left (in the very burned area) is 'failed'. So, maybe I'm a cynic in that what I pick up here is 'failed' and 'persuasion' but to me this is an image of irony.

And just to add another layer to the discussion, this book was found under the Bathurst Street Bridge in what was (up until 3 weeks ago) 'Troll Town'.
