Table top model? Apr 8, 2004

Originally I wasn't going to use this photo. I figured it was perhaps too typical, obvious and has been done a million times before. When Jenn saw it, she initially thought it was a model on a table top — and that misreading of the image confirmed that I was just being a little too cynical (surprise).

This is a fire exit escape on a building near Adelaide and Peter Street, in one of the many back alleys.

Technically, there is a little bit of cheating in this shot. Because the exposure range is huge I had to take two shots and merge them together so that I could at least get some detail in the sky. Unfortunately, I didn't have a tripod with me so there's a bit of masking (in Photoshop) to line everything up. In the end, I'm quite happy with the result here.
