Death Valley

Ah, Death Valley, California. The perfect place to spend an anniversary. A good friend of mine thought I was crazy a few years ago when I suggested that for a honeymoon vacation I'd be going out to the desert. "The desert is where things go to die - people and mobsters." I don't think he realized the variety of landscape to be found in the American Southwest so naturally when given a chance to return, I did.

These photos were taken over the course of 2 days with about 4 hours total available for shooting (travelling with a 10 month old baby was a new challenge). There's perhaps an over-representation of images from the sand dune area but what can I say -- it appealed to me.
