Locker Room

While exploring these industrial locations I've come across two types of locker rooms. The most common seem to be the ones with lockers similar to what one would have had in school -- metal boxes with lockable doors. The other type is the one found here, where workers place their personal belongings in wire baskets which are then hoisted to the ceiling and locked there. It makes for an interesting environment with all these chains hanging from the ceiling but eerie at the same time when you notice all the things left behind.

The start of the Deer Hunter has a similar look in the steel (?) mill locker room. I googled to find out what the purpose of the baskets was -- your site was very helpful. Thanks!
