Wychwood TTC Barns

The Wychwood TTC Barns were a streetcar repair and maintenance facility in Toronto. Built in the early 1900s, they have been unused since the 1980s and are currently being redeveloped by Artscape as the 'Green Arts Barns' to provide artist live/work spaces and facilities for not-for-profit organizations. A number of these photos have been used in promotional materials for the Wychwood Barns redevelopment project.

The Wychwood Barns initiated my interest in photographing and exploring abandoned locations. Had I not visited this place, this gallery and all the others would not exist. It also provides a good benchmark for me indicating how much I've learned -- and how much more I have left to learn -- about photographing buildings.

I'm currently working at preparing a small book of photographs documenting the Wychwood Barns, hopefully to be available in early 2008.
