One of the many dark corridors in the Brickworks, this one against one of the exterior walls with the early 1900's style of steel truss column.

I recently visited the brickworks during the Open Doors. None of the guides seemed to know that there had been a prisoner of war camp nearby and that thet had worked in the brickworks for pocket money. Some of which they passed through the fence to kids who would run errands. (mostly buy cigs I think). At Kananaskis they make quite a tourist thing of the POW camp previously located there. Must be some interesting stories here in the east. Some escaped near Hamilton and only reported in many years after the end of the war. Should be a point of interest worth mentioning there somewhere. Can you access the exterior of the brickworks? I know it's near the Bayview Extension, but not exactly sure where. Whats the best way to get there?
