Flammable Tank  (Aug 3, 2005)

So, relaxing at the cottage this weekend meant starting to get a gallery together for some of the industrial landscape photos taken in Sudbury back in May. And... here's the gallery.

I haven't even started working through the 300 photos from the iron/ore plant we explored. That'll come later (probably in about two weeks when I go on vacation).

I'm glad many of you liked the duck photo yesterday. Why? Dunno. But I've got more... so consider yourself warned.

Rather eerie, almost apocalyptic. I love it.

Whoa, that sky is intense. This is a perfect B&W situation, and you've nailed it! Great stuff.

Was there about to be a storm?

Nice capture. It's great how you got such a wide view with nothing that doesn't fit with the theme or mood. I also like the balance of texture between the sky and the clouds. Is this a new lens for this shot, it seems pretty wide?

This is a really nice photo. I love the idea and the composition is really well done. Although, it feels as though there might be a bit too much sharpening going on in the background/midground area. But I love the sharpness of the texture on the front of the tank. Very cool. Good contrast. Good sky. Nice curvy road.

Have the Martians landed, or is this another piece from the shuttle? (I invite you to visit my Light and Shadow site and consider voting for it.)

Smoove D (Aug 03 2005, 8:33 pm)

Nice one. What is the tank doing in what appears to be the middle of nowhere?

Scary picture! Very well taken though

The clouds make me want to duck my head...very cool.

nice pic the b&w make it seem erie. but i like it

Maureen (Aug 04 2005, 2:53 am)

I'm with Eddiem, I too thought it was a monkey. And the way oil (etc) prices have been skyrocketing, I could only think of it as a 'monkey on our backs'. A very poignant!

adrian (Smeghead) (Aug 04 2005, 7:25 am)

nice b&w with a great sky.

Black, white, and every tone in between - superb!

If you stare at it...you can see a monkey at the top.

Looks like a bomb "waiting" to go off.
